The Front Yard Project
Taking advantage of a turf removal rebate to rip out 2,900 square feet of grass from the front yard and replace it with native plants, DG sidewalks, and responsible storm water management.
"This is the kind of press release that gets me going. Depopulate the palm trees!" — @vosdscott
We’re doing turf removal, and thinking about replacing it with all palms. What say you? Good idea? Great idea??
That was a lot of work. But this stretch is just about ready for some sidewalk. Making Fletcher Hills more walkable, 70 feet at a time.

"Walkability was a big factor in our move. Sidewalks are nice!" — @robert_graff
Doing it as part of my turf removal project. Which is why it’s actually going to be a DG sidewalk. I suppose if they ever insist on concrete, I’ll have to dig it back up. But for now, I’m going with the “better for the environment” option.
Our sidewalk project is actually part of our turf removal project! We’re removing 2,900 square feet of grass in the front yard. Will be replaced with a much more interesting mix of native plants, pathways, and responsible storm water management.
