The Ebike

Overwhelmed by options for years, then impulse-bought one on Amazon that looks kinda like a cool motorcycle. 17 miles on the first ride.

A friend was advocating for e-bikes as car replacements for short trips

100% agree.

I’ve been considering an e-bike for short trips around town, possibly even trying to figure out a commute. A rebate would be a phenomenal nudge.

I’d like to buy an e-bike, but I’ve been kind of overwhelmed by the options. Then made the mistake of clicking an ad on social media, and now literally all my ads are e-bikes. Now I’m fully overwhelmed (and clearly susceptible to cool ads!).

I’m a bit impulsive at times, so sure, I DID buy an ebike on Amazon that looks kinda like a cool motorcycle. What a blast! Not sure the last time I rode a bike except around the block - and I put 17 miles on it since this afternoon.

The ebike on its first ride

I guess I’m team ebike now… just rode down to grab a coffee in the La Mesa village - took 9 min to get here. Driving directions home say… 9min.

Am I allowed to just ride over on my ebike and give people rides in my side car?? I can just be the sidecar-ebike-hype guy.
A friend was making the case for ditching cars entirely in favor of e-bikes
I don’t have the same opposition to cars (I quite love my EV), but couldn’t agree more about the profoundly under appreciated potential of e-bikes. Even in hilly La Mesa, riding the ebike is just about always as time efficient as driving, and often faster.
A friend was questioning the economics of keeping an old gas truck

Ok, I feel like it gets more than 12MPG… but my paid-off 2012 Nissan Titan has 100k miles and now is only used for “truck stuff”.

Ebike or EV have taken on a lot of local trips. I think it’s kinda perfect.
